The National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Cancer Institute (NCI), and the Center for Cancer Research (CCR) offer a range of permanent positions related to cancer research. Jobs are available at the NIH main campus in Bethesda, MD, the Frederick National Lab campus in Frederick, MD, and satellite facilities in Rockville and Gaithersburg, MD.
Where to Look
The Jobs @ NIH Web site lists all NIH job openings under 5 main categories:
- Scientific/Research/Clinical
- Administrative
- Student
- Executive
- Other Jobs
All NCI permanent employment positions are listed on Jobs @ NIH.
CCR-specific jobs are listed on the NIH Web site, but candidates may also visit CCR Positions Available. Many of the openings advertised on this page are fellowship positions; however, permanent positions (e.g., branch chief, tenure-track investigator, staff clinician, etc.) are also listed.
Candidates who are interested in postdoctoral fellowships can post their CVs on NCI StarCatcher, a databank of interested applicants for positions that may become available for postdoctoral fellows.
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the NIH are Equal Opportunity Employers.
